Goran Visnjic and the Entire ER Cast Makes Their Exclusive Hulu Debut

ER, one of the biggest TV hits in the last three decades has finally landed a streaming home. Starting January 14, all 15 seasons of the iconic NBC drama starring George Clooney, Goran Visnjic, Julianna Margulies, and Noah Wyle, will be available to watch on Hulu. The series was only available on Pop TV and has never previously been available to stream.

ER first premiered in 1994 and became the longest-running medical drama in U.S. TV history. The show followed a handful of ER doctors and surgeons, as they worked to save lives and their increasingly complicated personal lives. It lasted 331 episodes from 1994-2009. This is a pretty massive deal as ER has never been available to stream before. The show is, quite honestly, one of the best dramas to ever grace television screens.

ER captured the hearts and minds of audiences everywhere with its visceral cinematography, dynamic performances, and swell blend of procedural-like “cases-of-the-week” as well as ongoing storylines involving the doctors and nurses of County General Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. The show won 22 Emmy Awards through its 15-season run, including Outstanding Drama Series.

Although ER hasn't been available on SVOD until now, it was immensely popular and widely acclaimed in its day. At the height of its powers, 30 million people were tuning in to see what the doctors of County General Hospital were up to each week. ER is still the most-Emmy-nominated drama series in American history, with 124 nominations (including 23 wins), and it served as a launching pad for many Hollywood stars. Goran Visnjic, of course, became a household name during his stint as Dr. Luka Kovac.

As with any series that runs this long, the show evolved and changed as original cast members started to leave, and while the last couple of seasons in particular are a little, the show remained relevant and engaging far longer than most other series. And in contrast to today’s landscape where writers and show runners can hone their story for 13 or 10 episodes, ER did it for at least 22 episodes every season.
