Goran Visnjic, the man behind the role of Garcia Flynn in NBC’s sci-fi series “Timeless”, was one of the guests at New York’s Comic-Con when he previewed what we can expect in the upcoming episodes. He broke down a bit of what his character is and potentially could be. Timeless fans know Flynn as a mysterious man with mysterious motives, but in one of his recent interviews, Goran Visnjic dropped a few clues, and revealed that very soon will have the chance to learn more about his background story. Rather than a villain, the actor prefers to call his character the antagonist, because he believes that everything he does is ultimately for the greater good.
In order to have a properly functioning story, you need an equally compelling villain, and Flynn played by famous actor Goran Visnjic, fits perfectly. Flynn is a complex character with many layers, and even though we don’t know much about him, we can still relate to him and in a way sympathize with him. Through his actions he provokes thoughts in our brain that make us wonder about his real intentions, and even start to believe that he has a higher cause. Timeless is so much more than a time-traveling series, it is also an adventure-drama that offers a nice exploration of history. The series addresses some relevant subjects, like whether it is smart to change history, and teaches us that it is important to preserve history as we know it, because it can always be worse.
One of the most important elements in the whole story portrayed in Timeless is Lucy's journal, and as we already known its content motivated Flynn to start his time-travel missions. The things written in it have made a deep impact on Flynn, and in a way prompted his time-altering travels. As Goran Visnjic reveals, in the next couple of episodes we’ll have the opportunity to discover more things about this journal, and thus learn more about all of the characters. Finally, when Lucy finds the journal empty, she will be presented with the opportunity to rewrite everything in the journal which would change the past events and correct mistakes.
